Silvia & David

September 2025 - La masia d’Esplugues

They say September has a different light, a special gold that wraps around everything. But I can tell you the light that day did not come (only) from the sun — it came from them. Some weddings are pure party and others are pure protocol. Theirs was, simply, pure truth. A daytime wedding, relaxed and made to enjoy with their people, where what mattered was not the timed schedule but the tight hugs.

The chosen setting was the Parish of Santa Maria Reina in Pedralbes. An imposing place for its architecture, but it felt incredibly intimate the moment Silvia walked through the door.

If I had to define the ceremony in one word it would be: emotion. No forced poses. There were the good kind of nerves, voices catching as they read their vows, and above all many tears (the happy kind, of course). Watching David unable to hold back when he saw her arrive is one of those moments that remind me why I am a wedding photographer.

After the “I do” and the shower of rice, we changed the script a little. Far from total improvisation, Silvia and David knew they wanted to play with the camera. They asked for a clearer art direction, looking to recreate some very specific creative ideas they had in mind.

I confess a little shyness showed at first (that nervous laugh that never fails), but they were the most willing couple in the world. They let themselves be guided, trusted my cues despite the initial awkwardness, and that mix of shyness and trust made for simply spectacular images.

We arrived at La Masía de Esplugues ready to celebrate. Being a daytime wedding, the outdoor aperitif was a joy. The temperature was perfect and the mood was easy: beers, laughter, reunions and that feeling of “we’re at home”.

Lunch followed the same line: simple but moving. There were special gifts for the closest people and, of course, the cake cutting, which kicked off the more playful part of the day.

Then came the first dance. I will be honest: forget movie choreographies. Silvia and David were terrified of this moment, and that is exactly what made it magic.

They held on to each other like a lifeline, between nervous laughs, a forgiven misstep and that shared shyness only two people who really know each other have. It was a dance “their way”: shy, but incredibly tender and real.

And as soon as the slow song was over... the shyness left the dance floor and the party broke loose!
